The Winchester Model 1912 became an instant hit on its introduction. Based on an earlier John Browning design it was refined and finalized by Winchesters in house designer T.C. Johnson. The shotgun utilized a sliding forearm or 'pump action' to cycle the mechanism, this action combined with Winchesters craftmanship produced a gun that was both smooth and quick to operate earning the epithet of "the perfect repeater", initially offered in 20ga followed by 16, 12 and 28ga. This Model 12 is made under the auspices of Browning by Miroku of Japan, a company well respected for their quality firearm production. Little needs to be said about the Browning that is not evident in the gun itself, Each gun is precisely engineered and of the utmost quality, they are built in Japan using state of the art machinery, all are hand fitted and finished. This example manufactured in 1990 and serial numbered 04685NM872 shows all original factory finishes. The 26” barrel exhibits a mirrored bore, 2 3/4" chambers and is choked Mod, and sports a raised vent rib.  Overall, this Model 12 is in excellent condition with perfect screws, 99% barrel and trigger guard bluing and hand finished checkering, there are some scratches on the actions left hand side evident in the pictures. The furniture is European Black Walnut with straight grain. This 28ga Browning Model 12 is a neat pump shotgun, weighing 6lbs 15oz and holding five shells. It’s easy to carry all day upland hunting and it is just at home on the sporting fields. Thanks for looking!
