The Winchester Model 1912 became an instant hit on its introduction. Based on an earlier John Browning design it was refined and finalized by Winchesters in house designer T.C. Johnson. The shotgun utilized a sliding forearm or 'pump action' to cycle the mechanism, this action combined with Winchesters craftmanship produced a gun that was both smooth and quick to operate earning the epithet of "the perfect repeater", initially offered in 20ga followed by 16, 12 and 28ga. This Model 12 is made under the auspices of Browning by Miroku of Japan, a company well respected for their quality firearm production. Little needs to be said about the Browning Citori that is not evident in the gun itself, Each Citori is precisely engineered and of the utmost quality, they are built in Japan using state of the art machinery, all are hand fitted and finished. This example manufactured in 1989 and serial numbered 03571PN832 shows 99% original factory finishes with just a few handling marks. Internally the barrel exhibits a mirrored bore, 2 3/4" chambers and is choked Mod. Externally the 26”-barrel sports a raised vented rib ideal for quick target acquisition.  The furniture is European Black Walnut and is prettier than that found on most Grade 1 guns and features nice grain, some fiddleback and hand cut checkering, there is some field wear on the toe. This 20ga Browning Model 12 is a neat pump shotgun, weighing 6lbs 13oz and holding five shells it’s easy to carry all day upland hunting and it is just at home on the sporting fields.
